Old friends

My old friend Ashley called me yesterday and asked if i could take photos for her.  she was auditioning for a movie from the local film festival.  when she asked me i was really unsure because i'm not too fond of photographing people without really thinking poses through, location, and lighting.  most of the photo shoot wasn't successful because of the difficulties i was having with my camera, but i did get a few really good portraits. this one above is my favorite.  this was a complete candid after i cracked a joke to help her loosen up.  

the one reason i dislike doing portraits is because i'm not fully capable of having my subject feel comfortable.  they always seem tense and too focused on looking good.  for this shoot i just decided to be myself and act like a total dumbass and it paid off in the end.  

Editing was pretty minimal. I used a cumstom action i created to give it a 'lomo' style effect. A slight USM and that was it.
